I have been a huge Firefox fan since I switched a few years back. It had tabbed browsing, a cleaner look and feel, and better CSS support than Internet Explorer had at the time.

Flash forward to the here and now and I’ve just upgraded to FireFox 3.0 (a few months ago) and think it is OK, though it does not work as well as 2.0 did for me and it crashes virtually every time I exit the browser.

As a result, I decided to install Google’s new browser, Google Chrome. So far, it seems pretty clean and it seems to work exactly like I would want a browser to work. It supports tabbed browsing and even has an “Inspect Element” right click option built in — something that FireFox had, but only when you installed the FireBug add on.

I’ll be giving Google Chrome a shot over the next few weeks and seeing how things work out. I have no doubt that a Google branded product will be a very strong offering and will likely surpass expectations and eventually take over the world a significant share in the browser war.
